Described as having "sweet, warm and powerful vocals", Birmingham based singer Indigo Marshall has a huge career ahead as a potential award winning recording artist, live musician and collaborative artist. Her musicianship and ability to adapt means her musical journey takes us from RnB and soul as well as rock, blues and dance.
Indigo, has already released her new single for 2020, Therapy which is a beautifully written ballad to kick off the new decade. It was first premiered on BBC WM and Indigo was interviewed by BBC's presenter Melzy J. Therapy is an emotional RnB track talking about a woman’s desire to support and be there for the love in her life in any way they need. Often in relationships, we feel the need to suppress how we are truly feeling because we need to be strong for one another. Therapy reassures it’s listens to open up and not keep things locked inside. Therapy has brought an amazing start to the year as it has also featured on BBC Introducing and Hot 92.
As a recording artist, in 2019 Indigo released her debut single; Emotional which had radio features on BBC Introducing, Hot 92 and New Style Radio. In 2018, Indigo was the credited vocalist on the dance single Desire. This was produced by the well-respected British DJ Paul Morell, and was co-wrote by himself and the UK number one vocalist Kelli-Leigh. It was premiered on BBC Radio 1 and later featured on Kiss FM and Capital.
Since her debut release, Indigo has been heard around the world from California all the way to New Zealand. She is currently recording new music and often seeking to collaborate with other artists.
As a live performer, Indigo is well known by her fans for her ability to command the stage. She has great presence, vocal control and techniques when she performs live. In 2019 she SOLD OUT her own headline show, Indigo Marshall Live at The Actress and Bishop in Birmingham. Indigo has also had the pleasure of supporting the duo Lotto Boyzz who racked up millions of Spotify streams, Martin Yates, Sheddy Maria and Call Me Unique. She regularly performs to packed out venues in her home city and throughout the UK at every chance she gets. Other venues and events have included, Soho House in White City London, O2 Academy 3, Mama Roux, Rough Trade Nottingham, Foodies Festival and iLuv Live.
Born in Birmingham, UK Indigo completed her Bachelor of Music Performance with a first class honours at The University of Wolverhampton. Throughout Indigo’s childhood she has been surrounded by a variety of music; from reggae, RnB and Motown which were tastes of her mother to soft rock, protest music and folk rock from her fathers tastes. However, she loved watching and listening to the powerful divas such as Whitney Houston and Diana Ross. Indigo was first introduced to entertainment at a very young age as a part of a musical theatre company. Although she enjoyed this stage in her life, she had a strong desire to sing solo pop and RnB. By the age of 14, she decided to step out of theatre, learn to play the guitar and begin to perform around her home city of Birmingham at acoustic nights and open mics.
Indigo Marshall is the upcoming Birmingham born soulstress and her enviable work ethic will continue to see her through fantastic music opportunities. Her sound is powerful yet soft, smooth and bright, a soul singer through and through.
"Her unique blend of inspiring, soulful vocals connects the hearts of every listener."
